You can be as creative as you want with fashion jewelry but there some basic things to keep in mind. Here are some of our tips...
1. Skin tone:
If you're fair skinned, pastel colors generally suit you. If you have darker skin, go for a darker version of the pastel shade. For example, pastel blue goes with fair skin while a deeper blue like aqua or cerulean blue is more suitable for darker skin.
2. Body type:
If you are full-figured, big beads and gemstones tend to make you look bigger. Stick to smaller stones and beads. The opposite applies to petite women - avoid wearing accessories that are too small. Try chunky beads and gemstones instead.
3. Color of your top:
If you are wearing a dark colored top, try to wear accessories that match and complement the top. Colors opposite on the color wheel go together. For example, yellow goes well with violet. If your top is multi-colored, wear a necklace that just has one color so it doesn't clash too much with the dress. If your dress or top is in a solid color, try jewelry with more than one color to contrast with your top.
4. Necklaces:
If you're wearing an intricate necklace (with beads in different sizes and colors), keep the earrings simple - think studs or hoops. On the other hand, if you wear a simple single line necklace, wear a bolder pair of earrings. Just make sure their colors and pattern match. Your necklace and earrings should generally complement each other, not clash with each other.

Some Ideas on Wearing Jewelry with A Maxi Dress
Here are some ideas on what to wear with a maxi dress.
Like all other tops and dresses, if your maxi dress is a solid color, you have many options. However, if it has a busy print, try to keep the accessories to a minimum.
1. If you wear a necklace, try a long thin one as it'll flow with the form of the dress - this is a good for a more elegant, effortless look. Or for a more casual, fun look, try a long chunky necklace.
2. Since most maxi dresses are sleeveless or short sleeved, bangles and bracelets are the perfect accessory. If you're wearing gladiator shoes, wear a metallic bangle. If you are wearing wedges, you can wear a subtle bracelet. With a solid dress, some bling would look good as well. A rhinestone or crystal bangle would add some sparkle.
3. Dangly long earrings are your best bet for a maxi dress because most maxi dresses reveal a good part of your neck and shoulder. However, if you are already wearing a chunky necklace, try simple earrings like studs or maybe skip the earrings.
As always, how you should accessorize depends on the color of the outfit and your body type. So take the above suggestions and be creative.

What Jewelry to Wear With A Floral Dress
Floral dresses and tops are fun! But because they are already colorful, they aren't always easy to accessorize. Here are some ideas…
1. Minimal: If the top has a very busy print, keep the accessories minimal. Choose only one accessory - a necklace, a pair of earrings or a bracelet.
2. Keep it simple: Once you decide on the accessory, keep it simple. Wear thin-line bracelets, hoop earrings or a simple chain or pearl necklace. These won’t clash with the print on the dress.
3. Necklaces: When wearing necklaces, try a thin necklace with a pendant that matches the most minimal color in your dress. For example, if the colors on the dress/top include a lot of blue, some cream and a little bit of pink, go for a pink pendant or necklace. Try gemstones instead of beads since they go better on thin chains.
4. Earrings: When wearing earrings, studs are your best bet. They don’t compete with the dress but will complete the look.
5. Bangles & Bracelets: If your sleeves are short or three-quarter, try a big rustic looking bangle in a color that contrasts with the dress’s main color. Don’t wear other accessories with the bangle. Let the bangle stand out with the dress.
As with all our posts on tips/ideas, these are only a few ideas intended to spark your creativity. It all depends on the kind of outfit, your body type and skin tone. Take the above ideas and modify them as you see fit.

How to Glam up a White Dress or Top
White dresses or tops without accessories often start to look boring. Here are some ideas on what jewelry to wear with a white dress or top.
1. During the day, beaded necklaces work well with white because they contrast well. To keep it simple, try a necklace with beads in one color family - nice during a regular day driving around doing errands or sitting in a cafe sipping a latte.
2. To take it one level further, try a graduated bead necklace - one with different sized beads. They look subtle, yet fun.
3. To spice it up a bit more, try a mix of bright colored beads - perfect for a barbecue party or other outdoor events.
4. If your sleeves are short, wear a bangle of the same hue and color texture with your necklace. With a necklace and a bangle, you could skip the earrings.
5. For evening wear, choose deep colored accessories. For beaded jewelry, think of colors like wine, cherry red, turquoise, emerald, and purple. Or you can also opt for a simple thin gold or silver necklace with a pendant in the same colors.
6. When wearing thin gold or silver chained necklaces, match them thin gold or silver bangles. Generally speaking, try not to mix beaded jewelry with gold or silver. In some cases, it works but in general, beads are more casual and metals are more elegant.

Great Fashion Resource - YouLookFab.com
We came across this great fashion blog when we were looking for advertising opportunities for our store and thought we should post about it. There are so many fashion blogs out there and so many personal blogs that blog about fashion. So what's special about YouLookFab?
Most fashion blogs out there are celebrity focused and look more like an online magazine than a blog. And most personal bloggers write about products they like rather than their views on fashion.
YouLookFab is truly a fashion resource. If you're looking for fashion tips and tricks, outfit ideas, etc, this is the blog to follow. They frequently blog about tips on how to wear different pieces of clothing, what clothing or accessories suit different body types and ideas on how to put outfits together.
And I love their site design too. Simple, colorful and well organized.

Cinch Your Waist: How to Belt An Outfit Based on Your Body Type
If you take your body type into consideration, not all belts are created equal. Here are some tips on how you can cinch your waist based on your body type:
Petite:
If you’re like Eva Longoria or Natalie Portman, you have a petite body to work with. As a general rule for women with petite shapes, steer clear of busy patterns and multicolored fabrics, as this will make you look even smaller. Opt for “color-blocking” when it comes to dressing. Try to keep your clothes and accessories within the same color family. Monochromatic dressing will work best for you. For instance, if you are wearing a shift dress in a rich wine color, try a red belt. This way, you will be able to maintain the column of color in your outfit, making you look taller, while at the same time defining your waist, thereby giving you an hour-glass shape.
Plus Size or Pear shaped:
If you’re plus sized like Queen Latifah, or if you are pear-shaped like Scarlett Johansson, you should use belts made of sturdier fabric or leather to accentuate your waist. But remember, as a general rule for plus size women, you cannot play around too much with prints. Try to stick to belts with smaller patterns, preferably of muted colors. And limit yourself to one great accessory.
Tall or Large-framed:
If you are tall like Cameron Diaz, or large-framed like Rebecca Romjin, you can be more adventurous and playful with your clothing. You are perfect for accessorizing with belts from braided leather belts to the fun printed fabric belts. But having a torso longer than most women, placement of the belts is key. As a general rule, you should place your belt around two inches below your navel, to mitigate the length of your torso.
Hope this helps. Please comment with other tips.
